Nat Paterson is an MPhil student and freelance translator. The title of his thesis is An Eco-Critical Reading of Léopold Chauveau’s Animal Stories. For the last year, he has been working with the author’s grandson and archivist, Marc Chauveau, whom he recently met at the major exhibition of Léopold Chauveau’s artwork at the Musée d’Orsay. He has accepted an offer to start a practice-based PhD at Glasgow in September 2020, which will involve producing a bilingual critical edition of Chauveau’s Cures Merveilleuses du Docteur Popotame.
